The 24th of September 2022 was definitely a day for the memory book indeed.

Kesh (big brother to #shanayathefirst ), Liam and Kenya successfully held the 2nd SANBS Community Blood Drive at Weltevreden Park Primary School.

This is a big deal. Both boys are 12 and 13 years of age respectively, giving up their time to make a difference and create awareness for childhood cancer. We are so very proud of Liam, Kenya and Kesh.

The boys managed to get 44 blood donations. That means so many more lives can be saved.

The boys also braved the outdoor heat and walked around every stall handing out childhood cancer awareness pamphlets, and sold gold ribbons. They raised a total of R1530 for Rainbows and Smiles. A great big thank to these kids! You have hearts of GOLD.

The first 25 donors received a free gift from the Govender family in remembrance of their beautiful Shanaya the First.

Mommy Lee-Ann: “Thank you to everyone who donated blood and helped Kesh bring his vision to reality. We are so appreciative.

You did it Kesh!!! You did it!!! You successfully hosted your first blood drive at 12 years old.”

BE A HERO. IT IS IN YOUR BLOOD.
