What happens when an out-of-shape couple decide to ride their bikes in the Amashova for charity? You get Gail and Mark, two everyday heroes who trade in their Netflix marathons for actual marathons—on bicycles! These two have bravely embarked on this ride, not just for the glory (okay, maybe a little for the glory if finishing with the sweeps is considered a win) but to raise funds for a cause close to their hearts.
Gail, known for her ability to sit and sew all day, and Mark, who once ran around the block before kicking it back under the bed, are riding to support Rainbows & Smiles. This Charity helps families of children with cancer. They’re swapping donuts for energy bars, and coffee breaks for…well, still coffee breaks, but now with a side of cycling!
As they pedal their way from Shongweni past scenic Hillcrest and Kloof and inevitable flat tires, Gail and Mark are determined to turn every mile into a smile. They’re out to prove that you don’t need to be a pro athlete to make a difference—you just need a bike, a big heart, and a slightly questionable sense of direction.
So, whether they’re cruising downhill with the wind in their hair or cursing uphill climbs that seem to never end, they’re doing it all to support an amazing cause.
